Excelling Against the Odds in Ethiopia (Girls Education Challenge)

The evaluation team is pleased to share a summary of the main findings from the multi-year evaluation of the Excelling Against the Odds Girls Education Challenge Project implemented in Ethiopia by ChildHope UK and CHADET. The project was funded through the Girls Education Challenge, the largest fund for girls education in the world. The project delivered impact on learning outcomes, including in national examination results, and contributed to improvements in teaching practices. The project also supported parents to improve their attitudes towards girls' education but due to pressures imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of time girls spent on chores increased in both project and non-project areas.
